Prohibition Officers
In the 1920's there were a special force of police called the "Specials." They were the people who conducted bar raids and monitored liquor trafficing in the towns. They would kick the door down and make several arrests of the people drinking ithe illegal "hooch" and all bar owners. After all the arrests were made they would dump out all the liqour down the drains in all the illegal stills. many were in barrels so they would break open the barrels and even destroy the bar. There was some flaws though, many policeman went behind the law and consumed illegal booze, many policemen lost their jobs and were charged. Police played a huge role in prohibition in the 1920's.
